Reviews of Sunrise Senior Living

Our Dad recently relocated to Sunrise of Louisville from his home of many years. The staff have been so encouraging at helping him acclimate. They are immediately responsive to his few request. The food is tasty with a nice variety. We all feel safe knowing Dad is being monitored by such a caring and knowledgeable family of caregivers. Thank you!read more

Sunrise and its staff have made a difference in my mom's life. She is living a much better quality of life. Also, I have found the staff to be available to me with any questions or support we need.

My wife this week completes a full six years of residence on the memory floor of Sunrise of Louisville. In her six years she has been treated kindly and fed well. As her condition has deteriorated the care has expanded, along with the cost, but not unusually so. Her first room was rather luxurious, with spectacular views on two sides, and plenty of room for her frequent visitors. As her communication has faded and visitors have disappeared, Sunrise allowed a move to a smaller, less expensive room, which helped not only the financial outlay but also the house keeping. My opinion of Sunrise continues to be very positive.read more

Sunrise has been a blessing for my Dad. He was very well taken care of into his final days with love and compassion. A clean and very well run facility, with great food and a caring staff. Dad had Dementia and lived on the 3rd floor. They handled his challenges beautifully. I was able to put my mind at ease knowing he was ok with them and they loved him well.read more

We moved our 97 y/o mother here during an especially difficult week - a COVID outbreak occurred among the staff and stormy weather forced two power failures, one for nearly three days. In spite of these challenges, staff supported our move and welcomed Mom into the community. The shorthanded staff went about their work cheerfully and compassionately as if nothing was amiss. To me, that’s a sign of great leadership on the part of the executive director.read more

Don’t work here or put your family members in here. I worked at Sunrise for two years. Most of the workers were very lazy and hard workers were expected to pick up the slack. There are no consequences for laziness. Most of the workers were nasty to me when I asked for help, even though I always helped them out whenever they asked for it.read more

Using my husband Google account my phone messed up...but let's get to the point...I was a private duty caregiver hired through the family...the workers there where awesome and every attentive and hard working ladies & gentlemen but the facility director ( Brandy) was a total different story I had applied to join the team for additional work and never had any encounters with her because she stays in her office well when she was out of here office she snapped on her workers and treated them like trash I over looked it and minded my business my client family ask me to go ask her for depends then snapped on me for no reason and in crossing I would always over hear her being every rude to staff my gut feeling was telling me not to work here she doesn't respect her staff so I follow my gut feel and canceled my interview she has alot of agency come in because of how she treats folks she a poor representation of that company not only that they had a black history month meal so it was African American food Ms. Brandy and Janice (the care manager) where both making racial comments quietly but remember someone always watching and listening I'm so glad I canceled my interview I'm a workaholic and the management here horribleread more

A truly fantastic place to live. This community is very activities centered involving all guests. I very much like the design of the facility as it makes you feel at home, not just another nursing home. Every staff member I have encountered has gone out of there way to make my son and I feel welcome. The grounds are well kept, each person can design there room they way they see fit. Sunrisie gives your family member that extra attention, that extra personalized care. Sunrise is like traveling buisness class international with all the extra perks that are given to their guests. I truly feel luckly that my mum lives there.Brian Sread more

My experience was terrible and I'm not a review type of person. There's no such thing as a perfect workplace. I worked at Sunrise for almost two weeks. My first day was horrible they were short on the second shift (care managers) and that was crazy. I went into work on 8-1-19 and ask for my paycheck and Robin (HR) said to me" I forgot about you I'll TRY and get your check cut for you Monday. She was not concerned at all about my paycheck. What's crazy is there were two other girls that started the same time I did and they received their paychecks. I can't work for a company that doesn't care about there employees. God Bless the Residents and I pray that they get the proper care they deserve.read more

I would like to thank the staff and the management for their hard work and compassionate care of my mother. It is never easy to trust someone else to care for your loved ones. They try very hard to make my mother feel at home, make her smile, and tailor her experience to meet her specific needs. If we ever have a concern or problem and tell the staff and management team, they address are concerns or problems immediately. I would highly recommend Sunrise of Louisville. Thank you so much.R Hancockread more

I worked there for two years and I enjoyed it for the most part. Jose Morris was my supervisor then and he was very fair, friendly, knowledgeable and an over all very good supervisor. It was very organized but the care givers were very lazy and hard to get along with for the most part. But some a very special few were very nice and helped you if you needed it. The pay could of been more for what the duties were. The clients were hard to handle at times but most of them were friendly.read more

I resigned from working there a few weeks ago. I only spent a month employed there and left because of the staff. There is no real supervision so none of the employees are being held accountable. I witnessed 2 employees fighting my 2nd week and literally no one intervened. Residents are getting the bare minimum care and it’s no secret. There is no passion at this location. I wouldn’t send anyone I care about to this sunrise facility.read more

My dad has been a resident of Sunrise for 2 years now. He's on the Reminiscence floor, and we couldn't ask for a more loving and compassionate staff. Taking care of folks with dementia is not a walk-in-the-park, but you almost wouldn't know it walking around up there. The staff have smiles on their faces and a twinkle in their eyes. The love and the care they show my daddy, and others, warms my heart. I'm so thankful, everyday.read more

My grand-mom lives at Sunrise of Louisville and she is so happy with her apartment. She likes to look out the window at the garden and has made new friends. This is a beautiful community! My tour with Joanie was thorough and positive. Residents were smiling and were busy in activities. I met Mary, a caregiver on the first floor, and she was friendly and even shared how long she had been with the company. We talked in length about staff turnover and measures Sunrise takes to keep staff longer. Joanie showed me all three floors of the facility and I was very impressed with the updated furniture and decorations, how much open space the facility offers, and with the size of the one bedroom apartment I was able to see.read more
